Insurance Process

Please record and relay this information to your project manager. You do not need to worry about being there unless we need to look at the interior of your home. In the event that you simply get a phone call with the date and time the adjuster will show up at your property please let your project manager know as soon as possible so that they may coordinate their schedule.

Meeting the adjuster is an important step. We will go over our contingency agreements and insurance authorizations at this time as well as our initial inspection results.

Insurance Company:
Claim #:
Adjusters Name:
Adjusters Phone #:

If your adjuster has not been out we will gather all measurements and fill out a damage report that we will have ready when it’s time to meet your adjuster. When the adjuster appointment is set we will meet them at your home and go over everything with a fine tooth comb. We are not out to take advantage of insurance companies, nor are we public adjusters. We are there to make sure you get everything that you are entitled to. We are your advocate.

If your adjuster has already been out to your property, chances are they may have missed a few things. Not a big deal, your project manager will perform a thorough inspection of you property documenting all damage by taking pictures and filling out a report that we can later send to your insurance company. We will ask for a copy of your insurance paperwork and compare the two reports. We have been doing this for along time, and often time your insurance company will work with us right over the phone. While other times we may need to have an adjuster come back out meet us at your home.

When you have a mortgage on your home and your loss exceeds a certain value (usually over $5,500) your insurance company is required to list your mortgage company on all checks that they issue because your mortgage company has an interest in your home. We have staff that are dedicated to making this go as smoothly as possible for you. Here are a few things that you will need to fill out our mortgage authorization.

1) Mortgage Company Name and Loan Number
2) Your Mortgage Company’s phone number to their loss draft department (We may have this already)
3) Your insurance check with your endorsement on the back

You will sit down with your project manager and go over your settled insurance paperwork and decide what work we will be completing. Then you will look at colors and samples that fit within the parameters of what the insurance company has allowed. Your project manager will make recommendations and also show you any relevant upgrade options at that time. Keep in mind our goal is to help you make the necessary repairs at minimal out of pocket expense. We will also complete some additional paperwork and take a down payment at this time.

Your project manager will put in your job orders based on the products and colors that you have selected. The production manager will then order the material and schedule our crews to get started. You will get a call from our production department prior to us beginning work with an exact date that our crews will be there. After all trades (roofing, siding, gutters, windows, etc…) have been completed we will send your insurance company a request to release the depreciation. Typically your insurance company will have only given you enough money for a down payment up to this point, holding the rest of the funds back until the work was complete.

After you have received your final payment from the insurance company please contact us to schedule a time for us to come out and pick up the final check We will do a final walk around of the property and make sure that there are no additional issues that need to be addressed. We will also ask you to fill out a quick survey about the process to help us continuously improve our customer service.

About two weeks after we receive final payment we will send out a warranty packet that will list the type of materials used and let you know what to do if you should ever need your warranty. We will also send out a request for a letter about your experience with our company, if you are pleased with our services or you have any suggestions on how we can improve we would love to hear about it. Hopefully your experience with RiverBend Roofing & Exteriors has been a great one!

Importance of an Insurance Claim

We often hear our customers ask if making a claim quickly is important. After a hail storm or strong winds, if there is damage to your roof or exterior, you must make the claim in a timely manner. Oftentimes, there is a specific window of time to make the claim. Insurance companies will range, but most only allow you to file a claim one year after an incident [source]. Not filing a claim and getting the repairs made to your home will hurt the resale value of your home. This is why it’s so important to get the repairs made! If you decide to sell your home and the repairs are not made, the inspector will lower the value of your home.

At Riverbend Roofing & Exteriors, we are locally owned and have over 100 years of combined experience. We know how to get the job done right and in a timely manner. We specialize in working with insurance companies on the claim restoration process. We offer quality products for your roofing and exterior project.
